Jessica Ramos, Senior Attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Southwest Ohio, LLC, will present an introduction to Immigration Law, including an overview of the federal agencies and departments involved with immigration, categories of immigrants, and types of humanitarian immigration relief. Legal aid advocates who understand the basics of immigration law are better able to spot immigration issues that arise in their civil case work and make appropriate referrals to help handle these complicated issues.
