Social housing is a necessary part of the response to the nation’s affordable housing crisis.  Social housing “is permanently and deeply affordable, especially to those most in need; is under community control; and most importantly, exists outside of the speculative real estate market.”

Dave Pringle, Director of State and Local Engagement at the Poverty & Race Research Action Council will provide an overview of social housing, examples of it and ways to advocate for it.
