CORT Negotiations Skills Training
Description
This is an intensive three-day training designed to provide attorneys an opportunity to develop, refine, and practice the link between these three skills: counseling a client in anticipation of negotiation/mediation, negotiations on behalf of a client, and representing a client at the mediation session.
Participants will work in teams of two to prepare their mutual client for multiple stages of alternative dispute resolution throughout the life of a case. The NITA case file uses a divorce scenario, but knowledge of family law is not a prerequisite. Negotiation and counseling skills taught will be applicable to all case types. The training culminates in a 2 hour mock mediation session.
