TRAINING DESCRIPTION

The Committee on Regional Training (CORT) and the Management Information Exchange (MIE) are happy to present this exceptional opportunity for legal aid supervisors and managers to learn about new information and develop skills to make them better supervisors and managers.

If you are an immediate supervisor of legal work, including managing and supervising attorneys, litigation directors and executive directors. IF you aspire to be an excellent supervisor in challenging real office situations, THIS TRAINING IS FOR YOU!

Topics to be Covered:

• The Supervisor's Role
• Effective Performance Feedback
• Supervision Systems
• Diversity and Supervision
• Using Case Management Systems to Support High Quality Supervision
• Supervision and Leadership
• Designing and Managing Projects
• Supervision in the Real Office
• Workplans

This training design emphasizes small group discussions, role play exercises and demonstration, and therefore is limited to 60 participants

REGISTRATION FEES

As a CORT-sponsored event, there is no fee for programs participating in CORT from Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and West Virginia.

ROOM AND BOARD

The training will take place at Weber’s Inn in Ann Arbor, MI. Rooms and meals will be billed to participants’ programs after the training at the rate of :

• Hotel room: $97 per day per room (plus any applicable tax; cost divided between guests if more than one guest per room); and
• Meals: $45per participant for the event for provided lunches- Monday and Tuesday (not optional).

A continental breakfast, lunch and breaks will be provided for Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday will be a continental breakfast and a late morning break/snack. Dinner is the responsibility of the participant.

CANCELLATION DEADLINE

The deadline for cancellation is June 10, 2016. Registrants canceling after this date will be billed for any unavoidable costs incurred as a result of the cancellation.
