Designing & Delivering Great Training

Description

Designing & Delivering Great Training will help you conduct more effective training. Among other elements, you will learn to deliver an effective two-minute opening to a presentation; use up to six methods of interactive instruction; use an instructional design checklist; and understand three different types of well-scripted panel sessions. In previous years CORT has gotten rave reviews for this training and this trainer.

This training is open to both lawyers and non-lawyers who do (or plan to do) training for legal services staff, client community members and groups, or other audiences. The training will be held December 5-6 in Indianapolis, IN (at Barnes & Thornburg LLP, 11 S Meridian St). The training will run from approximately 9am to 4pm ET both days.

PRESENTER: David Cruickshank of Edge International, an acclaimed national presenter, delivers this course. Although many of his services are directed to law firms and the judiciary, David has a significant track record as a trainer with legal services organizations, administrative tribunals, government departments, and private sector organizations. David has been an academic in the Constitutional and Administrative Law fields. He is now a Principal with Edge International, a consulting firm that works with professional services firms. Now based in San Diego, he is formerly the Director of Professional Development for Paul, Weiss, a New York law firm.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: The deadline to register is by the end of the day on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. Please note that registering does not mean acceptance into the training. Once registration closes, we will work with each state/program to select participants to attend the training. This event is limited by the presenter to not more than 20 attendees and will not be expanded for additional registrants.

REGISTRATION FEES: As a CORT-sponsored event, there is no registration fee for staff of legal services programs participating in CORT.

ROOM AND BOARD: CORT has reserved a hotel block at the Hampton Inn Downtown Indianapolis (one block south of Barnes & Thornburg). Participants will be responsible for making their own hotel reservations. The daily room rate before taxes and fees is $129 per night. The hotel offers valet parking for $40 a day. CORT will bill programs for the cost of lunches; breakfast and snacks will be provided by CORT. Dinners are “on your own,” pursuant to your program’s travel reimbursement policy and system. Please wait until you receive notice that you have been accepted into the course before booking your room.
