Drugs, Drug Testing, and the Court System

Description

Judge Patricia Keller, who presides over the adult drug court in Cabell County, WV as well as the Family Court there, will help us understand various drug tests, when and why they may be ordered, their expense, their availability, their limitations, and how to read and use their results. While Judge Keller’s context is usually in family court cases, in legal services practice we also see drug issues and drug testing arguments in housing cases, employment cases, and other settings. Tune in for the judicial view of these complex problems.

Judge Keller, a West Virginia native, has an undergraduate degree in Social Welfare from Shepherd University, as well as a law degree from West Virginia University. She has been a Family Court Judge for 15 years, and helped implement the adult drug court in Cabell County in 2009. Once upon a time Judge Keller was a legal services lawyer in West Virginia. Since 1999 she has also taught graduate classes in the WVU Master of Legal Studies Program.
