First Friday Webinar - The Rights of Low-Income Pregnant Workers

Description

The rights of pregnant workers have recently been the subject of renewed attention in the courts, by enforcement agencies, and in state legislatures. The webinar will cover federal and state protections against pregnancy discrimination on the job, with a particular focus on the scope of legal rights to accommodation for limitation arising out of pregnancy. Topics to be discussed include the Supreme Court’s 2015 decision in Young v UPS and interpretation of that decision in the lower courts; the EEOC’s recent guidance on pregnancy discrimination; the availability of protections under the Americans with Disabilities Act; and the scope of state law protections (and proposed legislation) in West Virginia, Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
