Move beyond your role as a legal aid lawyer and see yourself as a community catalyst, trusted advisor, and partner. You’ll learn how to garner and activate issues identified by the community, lead a successful advocacy and media campaign, and facilitate leadership. We’ll share real-life examples from groups across the country. You can even organize this course in conjunction with your local community leaders and create a relationship building exercise. Working together, we can achieve real change. This course is co-sponsored with the Committee on Regional Training; it will take place in Ann Arbor, Michigan on October 11-13, 2017. Participants are encouraged to stay at Weber's Inn. Rooms can be booked under “CORT/Shriver Community Lawyering Training” at a discounted rate of $97 per night, plus taxes.
