CORT Litigation Planning Webinar

Description

The first two sessions of CORT’s Litigation Planning webinar (9:00 am – 11:15 am) are open to all attorneys.

CORT is offering Litigation Planning on May 15, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. as a webinar. This training was originally scheduled as three different one-day trainings in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana. Due to the restrictions related to COVID-19, CORT is changing this training to one webinar training for participants from all CORT states.

Participation in Litigation Planning is a prerequisite for attending the Trial Advocacy Skills Training (TAST). This year, TAST will be in Ann Arbor, Michigan July 14-18, 2020. CORT currently intends to hold TAST in-person in July, however, the Board will continue to monitor the public health situation. Due to the limitation on the number of participants for TAST, participation in Litigation Planning does not guarantee you a place in TAST. Although Litigation Planning is a prerequisite for TAST, it is designed as a self-contained training, so it will be useful for people who do not attend TAST. Also, attending this year’s training will meet the prerequisite for future TASTs, unless a new case problem is being used. The target audience for Litigation Planning is lawyers with 1 1/2 years of practice after admission.

Part of the Litigation Planning webinar is open to all attorneys, not just those who intend to attend TAST in 2020, because of the online training format. This includes attorneys who are not yet eligible to attend TAST or who have attended Litigation Planning/TAST in the past and would like a refresher.

(Update: Due to the current pandemic crisis, 2020 TAST has been cancelled.)
